Hunter decided to follow Quinn's lead and join Tae Kwon Do this year. He was so excited to finally be doing TKD, although I think he prefers the "idea" of it more than the reality...but his focus improves everyday so I have my fingers crossed.
Quinn was allowed to join the black belt club this fall, as he proved his dedication over the last year. Black belt club introduces sparring and weapons...this is a little disconcerting in a house full of boys...how exactly will the trickle-down effect work with this???
Fort McMurray

Shannon decided to take the big boys to Ft.McMurray along with his parents to the Suncor Family Day so they could see where daddy works two days a week. They had the opportunity to check out all the big trucks and even sat in the drivers seat. They also had to do a fire guy challenge where they had to dress up as little firefighters and haul a stuffed person over their shoulders across one line, then run back and use a hose to put out fires in a little fabricated building!! They had a fantastic time!!
Caden and the paint

So, I have a free moment and I decide to intoduce Caden to paints!! I put his smock on, loaded a plate with a few colors and gave him a big piece of white paper to use to discover his hidden creative talents. I loaded the paintbrush up with some nice purple paint followed by a quick demo of how to use the brush...and voila...
Caden looked at the brush, looked at the paper...then proceeded to stuff the brush into his mouth!!
Didn't see that one coming...we had a purple drool problem for awhile and then I decided perhaps we should work on washable markers instead.
Grade 1

Quinn has officially started with full time school...he has started grade 1. He pretty much sprinted to school on his first day, but had some hesitation about entering his classroom...grade one was a little scary. By the end of the day he had decided he liked it as he couldn't believe " he got three recesses!!" By the end of the first week he wanted to know if grade 2 was longer than grade 1, as grade 1 was really a long day!!
